Term 3 Report
This term Year 3/4M have studied our Earth and its moon. We have also studied other planets in our solar system under the theme: SYSTEMS.

The students have thoroughly enjoyed their investigations of shadows, rotation and orbital patterns. They have shown a depth of learning through the use of an integrated approach, mixing Science and Literacy in all lessons using group cooperation and the sharing of learnt infomation. Many students have produced animations showing their understanding of difficult concepts such as the Big Bang Theory and Casting Shadows

Shadows are cast by objects that block light from the sun.

Term 4 Report

Well, we are learning about the biology, and therefore life cycle, of plants. The garden club is also working hard to grow a variety of vegies, including tomatoes, silverbeet, beetroot and carrots as well as a range of herbs.

We are currently investigating the germination and subsequent growth of bean and pea seeds. This will take four weeks to observe. Already, after 1 week, the beans have both roots and shoots. Some environments we are testing are mini-greenhouse, plater cup and soil absent growth. All environments seem to produce similar results when optimum conditions are maintained i.e. sunlight, water and organic nutrients in the soil.

Here are some photos of our plants 1 week after planting. They germinated 2-3 days after planting.
